The Harkins team attended the grand opening and ribbon cutting on the DMG Foods project on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Baltimore, MD.
Named after The Salvation Army’s motto Doing the Most Good, this 7,000 sf non-profit grocery is the first of its kind for The Salvation Army of Central Maryland and one of just a handful currently in the US. The store will provide healthy and affordable food in East Baltimore for families and individuals receiving SNAP benefits. There is a butcher counter, a deli featuring lunch meats and prepared foods like fried chicken, rotisserie chickens and salads, a bakery, a dairy department, and 15,000 shelved items, which can be purchased for about 5 percent lower than tradition grocery stores. It will be operated in partnership with the Maryland Food Bank.
