Harkins Celebrates Groundbreaking of The Villages at Slippery Hill Phases II & III

Queenstown, MD

On March 29th, the Harkins team attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Slippery Hill Phases II and III in Queenstown, MD.

When complete, Phase II of the project will consist of a 66-unit affordable apartment community throughout five buildings with a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedrooms for families. Phase III will include a 54-unit senior living community in a four-story building with a mix of one- and two-bedroom homes. Congratulations to our clients Green Street Housing and TM Associates, architect Architecture by Design, and all other project partners on this expansion project in Queen Anne’s County.

Harkins Receives National Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award

Columbia, MD

Harkins is proud to announce that project Brightview Columbia has earned the company a National Excellence in Construction (EIC) Pyramid Award in the Health Care $25 to $100 million category, presented during the 2023 ABC Convention in Orlando, FL, on March 16. The EIC awards, presented to 82 of the nation’s top construction projects in 2022, are the industry’s leading national competition that honors general and specialty contractors for world-class, safe, and innovative construction projects across the country.

Located in Columbia, MD, Brightview Columbia is a senior living community that offers independent living, assisted living, and Alzheimer’s memory care units, as well as first-class amenities. Completed in 2021, the community is also a recipient of an ABC Metro Washington Excellence in Construction Award. Harkins has a long-term partnership with client Brightview Senior Living, having completed nearly 20 projects together.

Harkins Celebrates Groundbreaking of Glenarden Phase III

Glenarden, MD

On March 15th, Harkins attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Glenarden Phase III in Glenarden, MD. We look forward to working with client Pennrose, architect Moseley Architects, and other project partners on this exciting redevelopment in Prince George’s County.

When complete, Glenarden Phase III will add 158 units and amenities to the mixed-income, master-planned community. This phase will feature a mix of one-, two, and three-bedroom units across 14 buildings. The community’s amenities will consist of a sports court, children’s pool, and lap pool to the project’s already robust amenities. The redevelopment project is intended to bring a more vibrant, diverse, and affordable approach to the City of Glenarden.
