Delaware CSMS Breaks Ground

The Combined Support Maintenance Shop celebrated its groundbreaking on Monday, June 10th in New Castle, DE. Representatives from the local, federal, and state government were present along with the youngest National Guard serviceman using the facility selected to be part of the ceremonial groundbreaking.
The project will consist of a new 65,000 sf facility with administrative and support spaces, an unheated storage building, a wash rack, loading ramps, vehicle storage lot, and new facility entrance with guard booth. Along with the Combined Service Maintenance Shop, it will be housed by the Field Maintenance Shops of the Delaware Army National Guard.
The facility will also serve as training and physical fitness locations for the base. The front end of the facility will contain amenities including a fitness room, lockers, multi-functional classrooms, and a café area. It will also include several additional shops including a carpentry shop, machine shop, canvas repair shop, communication shops, calibration shop, arms vault and repair shop, injector repair shop, and radiator repair shop.
