Accotink Village Apartments

No project illustrates our ability to make estimates a reality better than this one, or the confidence our clients place in us and the sense of partnership we bring to every endeavor. This was a large, important project for our repeat client, who required a quick turnaround between contact and contract. They received a quality market-rate community delivered on time and on budget. Now called Belvoir Square Apartments, this is a market rate, mixed-use community on a 6.6-acre parcel of historic Accotink Village near Ft. Belvoir. VA.


The wood frame apartment structure consists of 282 apartments, a fully wrapped parking deck, and an enclosed courtyard. The building also includes 11,500 sf of retail space and an 8,500 sf clubhouse. The project included full site development with deep foundations, ground improvement geopiers, earthwork, and utilities, and a large underground stormwater management facility. Resident amenities include an indoor fitness center, an outdoor fitness yard, a gaming room, and a courtyard with grill stations, a fire pit, and a hammock garden.

Harkins helped the project achieve LEED Gold certification by including an extensive air sealing package with blower-door testing and a recycling management program for construction debris.
