Easton Readiness Center
Located in the heart of Easton, the Easton Readiness Center provides a state-of-the-art environment for administering unit training for mobilization missions through the Maryland Army National Guard. The original armory, situated on approximately eleven acres, was demolished to make way for the new one-story building, complete with a separate storage shop and maintenance training bay. The new facility houses essential training activities and offers amenities such as classrooms, a learning center, an assembly hall, a full commercial kitchen, family rooms, equipment storage, administrative office suites, a library, a training device room, and a recruiting and retention hub. Exterior developments include private vehicle parking, Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) measures, and a military-operated vehicle lot, supporting both operational needs and safety protocols.
The building’s details, exterior materials, and exterior color palette complement the surrounding Easton community while establishing a level of quality that reflects the importance of the facility. This modern, permanent structure not only supports National Guard missions but also enhances service member proficiency, reduces overall government operational costs, and reinforces a strong visual presence in the community. We are proud to have partnered with the State of Maryland to create a facility that supports state-supported functions such as disaster relief and civil disturbance response, ensuring readiness for both military and civilian needs.

Maximizing Owner Value
The design-build team worked closely from both a design and construction standpoint, exchanging ideas to deliver the best value for every dollar spent.
Optimizing Building Orientation
Given the site’s more square proportion, early site studies focused on orienting the building to maximize natural light and views for administrative and classroom spaces.
Boosting Local Economic Impact
The design-build team took a four-pronged approach to honoring the State of Maryland’s investment, securing local economic benefits early in the design process.
Energy-Efficient Climate Control
A VRF mechanical system was installed in the building in lieu of a traditional water-source heat pump. This energy-efficient system helps keep the building climate–controlled in the areas that are used every day by controlling temperatures on a room-by-room basis.

Additional Details
Designed by local artist Eloqui, this decorative piece is displayed in the lobby and features Maryland Army National Guard soldiers from the National Guard’s beginnings in the Colonial Militia of 1634 through present day. It also includes the Latin phrase Si vis pacem, para bellum (Classical Latin: [si: wi:s ‘pa:kem ‘pa:ra ‘bel:lum]), which translates to “If you want peace, prepare for war.”
