Ft. Dix Marine Corps Reserve Center

Working on this project was a great honor for the Harkins team. We delivered a state-of-the-art facility for the U.S. Marines. This was part of the BRAC base-closure program. We merged the Marine Wing Support Squadron and Battery G artillery into one Reserve Center.

The 17-acre campus comprises three buildings: a main training/headquarters facility, a vehicle maintenance shop,
and a dedicated storage building. Despite late design changes and high groundwater, we completed on time and within budget—thanks to our Structured Plan Review®.

17-Acre, Three-Building Campus

Designed to unite administration, training, maintenance, and storage functions in a single complex, the facility features a main HQ and training building, vehicle maintenance shop, and separate storage facility—all tailored to Marine Corps requirements.

Complex Coordination & Engineering Solutions

Incorporated late design revisions post-frame erection, managed high groundwater and stormwater-to-infiltration basin conversion via significant pumping operations, and seamlessly integrated two types of steel framing (prefabricated and traditional) with shared footing systems through our Structured Plan Review® process.

74% MBE Participation & On-Schedule Delivery

Achieved an extraordinary 74% minority-business participation—36% above our target—while overcoming permitting and site challenges to complete the project on the adjusted timeline and within budget.

“Harkins earned an outstanding rating by providing a first-class facility, within budget, and on schedule. They provided their “A” team for the project and the results reflect the effort of their team.
