Junction 49
Junction 49 is a private student housing development strategically located at the heart of the UNC Charlotte area, at the intersection of University City Boulevard and N Tryon Street. The community features two student residential buildings offering 229 units with 755 beds, thoughtfully designed around two private internal courtyards. Despite being in a high-traffic location, these courtyards create a secluded atmosphere for residents. Amenities include a large swimming pool with a separate spa, grill stations, extensive paver walkways, elevated planter terraces, and plenty of outdoor seating areas for relaxation and connection.
The buildings are constructed with a durable and attractive combination of stucco, stone veneer, fiber-cement siding, and flat TPO roofing, ensuring they become a prominent feature along the N Tryon corridor. The project showcases a mix of building styles, including podium and split-level foundations as well as wrap-style apartments surrounding a precast parking structure. Junction 49 represents a dynamic blend of thoughtful design, lasting materials, and community-focused amenities.

Post-Pandemic Design
The pandemic revealed new design features to improve student living. These included giving every bedroom an adjacent bathroom, providing additional privacy for residents. There are also heightened facility security features, earning Junction 49 Niner-Gold status, an accolade awarded by the university.
