Annapolis, MD

On Friday, April 3rd, Harkins joined the Naval Academy Athletic Association, the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation, and Bignell Watkins Hasser Architecture & Interiors for the ceremonial groundbreaking of the new Navy Lacrosse Center in Annapolis, MD. The event marked a significant milestone in the creation of a new state-of-the-art athletics facility that underscores the Academy’s commitment to the physical development and long-term success of the Brigade of Midshipmen.

Situated along the Severn River, the three-story building will bring together training, recovery, nutrition, team, and recruiting spaces to serve both the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams. The state-of-the-art center will include locker rooms, wardrooms, coaches’ offices, a tribute area honoring the legacy of excellence of Navy Lacrosse, athletic training and rehabilitation spaces, a strength and conditioning facility, a nutrition center, a team theater, and a conference room. A rooftop terrace will provide a unique gathering space for recruits, alumni, and team events.

“The Navy Lacrosse Center project represents an important investment in the development of Midshipmen and future officers who will be called to lead in high-stakes environments,” said President & CEO Ben Nichols. “As a Naval Academy graduate and former varsity athlete, I have experienced firsthand how critical the physical mission is to preparing leaders for the realities of military service. Harkins is honored to be part of that mission, and this project reflects our ability to deliver large, complex, and high-quality work for clients who expect excellence.”

Harkins is excited to be a partner in bringing this vision to life and proud to support a project that will make a lasting impact on Midshipmen and future leaders in the Navy and Marine Corps.
